Korean Drama Monstrous is too short for its story
Story
When the people of Jinyang County discover the head of a Buddhist statue, weird things start to happen, to the point where the resident will begin attacking each other.
Korean Drama Monstrous is a dark, atmospheric drama about a cursed artifact and the consequences of having to fight with your own demons.
And yet, all of the subjects that the drama touched on were presented superficially. The relationships were brushed off too quickly to create the right emotional impact.
The same goes for the action part. Everything happened too fast and followed the well-known pattern; the outbreak of a zombie apocalypse, the confinement of some survivors that start turning against each other, a grande exodus, and the fightback until the final conclusion of the curse that is only temporary as the final scenes will prove.
That format is chosen probably for most zombie outbreak dramas. Hence, Monstrous doesn’t prove to be the exception. And the short length also means that the story has no depth and is resolved as quickly as possible, without explaining things through.

Overall
My overall rating for the Korean Drama Monstrous is 6.5 out of 10. The drama was interesting, but it was too short to properly explore the story.
