Korean Drama Vincenzo had a strong start, but was too far stretched

Story

Vincenzo comes to Korea, after he was adopted by a mafia family in Italy when he was a kid, to escape those who wish him dead and to get the gold that is hidden underneath an apartment block. However, one of the biggest firms in the country wants to buy the building and demolish it, despite the residents’ objections and by using illegal means. Now, Vincenzo will find himself in a legal battle against them, a battle that would not be only about the hidden treasure.

Korean Drama Vincenzo had an interesting start. The events were funny, there were plenty of quirky characters and the fight against those in power brewing and waiting to be unleashed. The main character is also a promising one, with lots of charisma, comical moments and to the point action skills.

Also, the way he handled things was an interesting, alternative and almost daring way of having the satisfaction of punishing the wrongs. However, sometimes he just went too far, like in the last episode.

The family drama was a nice addition as well. The residents and their alliance was another great factor of the drama, which used this mixture of misfits to create a small family. Sometimes, unfortunately, they went too far in making them look odd.

Plus, the villains were pretty intriguing, and the twist of whose the boss was used nicely, even though the surprise only comes if one was watching the drama while it was ongoing.

However, the drama was too long for the story it wanted to present. The episodes were an hour and twenty minutes each and twenty in number, which caused the plot to be repeatable, the twist predictable, and the whole thing just tiring to watch, as it never reached the moment of retribution.

The romance was another failure. The characters were nice as partners, even as friends, but the whole attraction felt forced and fake, as they were always coming to a friction and the drama almost always focused on the criminal cases rather than the couple’s development.

Han Seo is the CEO of Babbel, one of the most powerful organizations in Korea. He is rumored to be crazy and ruthless, though he appears to be acting like a fool.

Kwak Dong Yeon was delightful as always.

The drama had well choreographed scenes, but it got draggy towards the end.

Overall

My overall rating for the Korean Drama Vincenzo is 6 out of 10. The drama has an intense story and some funny moments, but it should have been shorter.
