Chinese Drama Mysterious Love is full of action and romance.
Story
Nian Chu met Li Teng under the worst circumstances, but they fell in love. However, she lost him. Now, five years later, they reunite. But Li Teng acts coldly towards her, until he discovers she has a mysterious coin that is linked to their previous case.
Chinese Drama Mysterious Love is short but packed in action. The drama uses the characters well, having a pure soldier male lead, a clever and dynamic female lead, and two cute second leads to provide the drama with some fluff when it was needed.
The action that the mystery case provided was, in addition, quite intriguing and was introduced in small doses, whether it was through flashbacks at the beginning of the episodes, or meddled nicely in the current timeline.
However, it should be noted that, even though the previous events were interesting and had potential, they weren’t properly explained as to give the intensity it was needed to provide more depth to the story.
Still, the romance was well balanced and had a smooth pace. Though the male lead was quite possessive to the point that he got annoying, the female lead was strong enough to keep him at bay and she was a pleasant surprise.
The second couple was especially cute, although the girl was too aggressive at the beginning. The little girl was adorable too.
Characters
Nian Chu is a theatrical actress. She is clever, dynamic, and beautiful, though she is melancholic due to the loss of her boyfriend.
Yilia Yu was great and her character was different from the cute, innocent ones.
Li Teng works as a bodyguard for his friend Jiang Hao. They both are working to uncover a criminal case, but their efforts bring them face to face with Li Teng’s long-lost love. Li Teng is quite possessive towards her, even after all these years, and he wants to protect her and keep her away from other men.
Tsao Yu Ning acted his action scenes perfectly.
Jiang Hao is Li Teng’s friend. Even though he is quite young, he is raising his daughter alone and he is very innocent when it comes to love.
Wu Hao Ze was very adorable.
Yu Fei is Nian Chu’s best friend. She is in love with Jiang Hao and she uses all the mean’s possible to make him notice her.
Leslie Ma gave a smooth performance and she was funny and dynamic at the same time.
Cinematography
The drama was fast paced and they presented the action scenes perfectly.
Overall
My overall rating for the Chinese Drama Mysterious Love is 8 out of 10. The drama is enjoyable and has too interesting couples.
