Story
Dan Tae and Seo Jin are planning to get married, but Yoon Hee, who was framed for the murder of Dan Tae’s wife, is back to take revenge on them both for what they have done to her and her best friend.
Korean Drama The Penthouse 2: War in Life deals with a new mystery, under the shadow of the previous events. The characters again change sides, a new victim appears and Dan Tae’s story starts resurfacing.
The drama overall does a great job keeping things interesting, suspenseful, and thrilling till the very ending. The twists are plenty and the melodrama on full mode. The drama, thankfully, kept away from the extravaganza of the previous season and low keyed the comedy to let the revenge plot reign the scene.
There were, however, some predictable twists. Still, the drama keeps the viewer on edge and delivers the justice it promised from the first season.
The mystery is also well crafted and cleverly introduced in small doses. The romance, on the other hand, was not the strongest factor of the drama.

Characters
Bae Ro Na is Yoon Hee’s daughter. She is a talented singer who loves music. However, after finding out what her mother has done, she wants to right her wrongs.
Kim Hyun Soo had an annoying character in the first season, but she redeemed herself in the second.

Seok Kyung is Dan Tae’s daughter. She wants to please her dad in any way possible, even if that means she has to use his power to gain his respect. She is ruthless and often strikes enemies around her due to her rude personality and her using people.
Han Ji Hyun gave a very dynamic performance.
Seok Hoon is Seok Kyung’s twin brother. He wants to protect his sister from their abusive father, whom he hates. He falls in love with Bae Ro Na, but has to let her go after their mothers’ case.
Kim Young Dae did a great job with his character.

Eun Byul is Seo Jin’s daughter. She has been trained by her mother to be the best and she lives in anxiety to beat everyone and make her mother proud. She hides her true self and tries to look nice and sweet.
Choi Ye Bin had one of the most memorable performances of the show.
Je Ni used to be Bae Ro Na’s rival, but she started feeling sorry for her and tries to help her. However, her sympathy makes her a target for the other kids and she is being bullied for that.
Jin Ji Hee had one of the characters with the best character development.

Min Hyuk is one of the kids bullying Je Ni. He used to be her friend, but he often likes to swift sides, as he only cares about having fun.

Cinematography
The drama was quick-paced and they didn’t overdo it with the comedy scenes.

My overall rating for the Korean Drama The Penthouse 2: War in Life is 7.5 out of 10. The drama is quite thrilling and has a big amount of melodrama.
