Story

Hae Yi is a college student who prefers making money to support her family than living her college life. However, after joining the cheering club, she discovers that she is willing to enjoy her youth.

Korean Drama Cheer Up is a college drama with a mystery case twist.

The drama has a light mood most of the time, but does get darker as the mystery unfolds.

However, that mystery case was a huge letdown, with a half-baked plot that was rushed to be solved in the end, as it was pushed back by the rest of the story.

The love triangle, in addition, was boring and had few surprises to offer.

On the other hand, the main love story was cute. The friendship part, as well as the college drama, were all pretty entertaining to boot.

Characters

Hae Yi is a bright and energetic young college student who doesn’t let her misfortunes take over.

Han Ji Hyun was adorable and had the most interesting character in the drama.

Jung Woo is the leader of the cheering squad. He appears to be a cold, serious character, but he is passionate about his club.

Bae In Hyuk was enjoyable to watch.

Cinematography

The pace of the drama is smooth and the mystery is nicely handled.

Overall

My overall rating for the Korean Drama Cheer Up is 7 out of 10. The drama is youthful, but tends to fall into the college trops.
