Yo Han is framed for the fire at the church, which caused his brother’s death, even though it is revealed that Elijah was the one who accidentally lit it up. He is sent to prison, where he gets stubbed and the press confirms that he is dead.

Meanwhile, Ga On discovers that the President and his peers take the people who are supposed to be infected by the fake disease and sell them as clinical guinea pigs and for body parts. He records them in the clinic confirming their evil plans and gets also footage of the whole operation. Then, he escapes with the help of medical personnel who has been trying to find a way to stop them, taking So Yoon with him, who has been kidnaped and thrown into the clinic.

However, when Ga On learns that Yo Han is dead, traps Jung Ho in his old office with the help of Jin Joo, ties him up on a chair, and reveals that he has a bomb around his torso, with which he intends to blow them both up. But, just when time is running up, Yo Han appears and stops him, explaining to him that he had staged his death. He is also planning for a last live court, with the President, his fellow conspirators, and Sun Ah, who are all gathered in the courtroom, celebrating Yo Han’s death.

Yo Han locks the doors and starts broadcasting, revealing all their crimes and asking for the public vote. He specifically says that as the President had gotten 10 million votes, if the votes against them reach the same number, the courtroom will be blown up by bombs he had installed. He himself enters the room and tells them that he will give them the chance to save themselves, by letting the fastest who reaches the door escape. That is when the scene of the church repeats itself until Sun Ah fires her gun and kills the President before killing herself. Her last thoughts are of Yo Han and that she truly liked him.

Ga On, learning Yo Han’s plan, goes into the courtroom as well to convince him to get out, but Yo Han refuses and he sends him out against his will, just when the room erupts. However, that was also Yo Han’s plan, who has found a way out and had taken Elijah to Europe in order to have her treated.

A few months later, Jin Joo leaves the court, while Ga On is recognized as a national hero and is asked to help with the reform of the justice system so that someone like Yo Han will not appear again. However, Ga On sees that things have not changed at all, despite everything.

And as he leaves disappointed, he sees Yo Han in the crowd. He tries to reach him, but Yo Han is faster. In the end, they look at each other from distance and Yo Han seems to tell him to do his best or he will have to come back. Then, he leaves.

The overall feeling that the drama left was bittersweet. The ending showed that Yo Han was alive and well, but that nothing really changed and that corruption still existed. However, now, there are people who can fight for change. Plus, key players that moved things around are now dead.

So, will there be a second season? Well, the drama was based on the live court cases, an institution that is now pushed aside, while the main structure of the plot, Yo Han’s master plan, is completed. However, it is not difficult to find new pools of corruption to highlight and chase down, like the ending, with Yo Han’s slow walk out of the camera frame left suggestions that he might be back to set things straight if it’s needed.
