Korean Drama May It Please The Court has interesting characters but a blunt story

Story

Chak Hee is an attorney working for a big law firm. She is aiming for a promotion, but one of her cases doesn’t go the way she wanted it to, and she ends up being suspended for a year. Thus, Chak Hee has to work as a public defender, while she is waiting for her big comeback.

Korean Drama May It Please The Court is a law drama with strong leads.

The female lead was a scene stealer, dominating the story and having an air and flare that gave a fresh twist to the well-used serial killer mystery.

Her dynamics with her fellow public defender were also another strong point of the drama. The two of them were enjoyable together and their chemistry was spot on.

On the other hand, the main criminal case was stale and got overly complicated for no reason. Sure, there were enough dark moments to make things more suspenseful, but the game of who’s the real culprit got tiring after a while.

In addition, the trope of the corrupted powerful class is an overused one.
