Story
When Ma Roo was a medical student, he took the blame for a murder that his girlfriend, Jae Hee, committed. But when he got out of jail, he discovered that she not only had left him, but she also has become the mistress of a rich businessman. Heartbroken, and having been betrayed by her, he decides to take revenge on her by seducing her husband’s daughter, Eun Gi.
Korean Drama The Innocent Man has a promising story, with a man who lost everything going after the woman who cost him his life.
However, and even though the beginning is thrilling, intriguing, and exciting, filled with twists and melodramatic moments, the drama takes the downfall soon after.
First of all, it utilizes the amnesia trope way too many times. The first time can be justified as a means to enhance the drama, however that can’t be the case for the second one and the third one! It not only got boring, but it also transformed the strong female lead into a victim and lady in distress.
Actually, every character started becoming obnoxious. Their actions didn’t make sense and their overall behavior was almost out of character.
The ending, finally, was idiotic and a big letdown.
Characters
Ma Roo is a young man from a poor background. He is struggling to get by and support his ill sister. However, he is ready to do anything to gain what he wants.
Song Joong Ki did a good job as Ma Roo and he was very emotional.

Eun Gi is the daughter of a rich CEO. She has always been fighting to maintain her position, proving constantly to her father that she is worth it. She can act rudely and snobbishly.
Moon Chae Won gave a nice performance, however, her character got a personality transformation that turned her into a boring female lead.

Jae Hee had a difficult upbringing, which she tries hard to go back into. So she is ready to do anything to maintain her role as the lady of the house.
Park Shi Yeon had an intriguing character, but her performance was wooden and she didn’t portray her as she should.

Min Yeong is Jae Hee’s husband’s attorney. However, after falling in love with her, he betrayed his boss and started using any means possible in order to have Jae Hee rise to power.
Kim Tae Hoon had one of the most annoying characters, but he gave a nice performance.

Jae Gil is Ma Roo’s friend. He is from a rich family, but he gave up his position, after finding out about his father’s misconduct. He is a loyal friend to Ma Roo and his sister.
Lee Kwang Soo gave comedy relief to the drama when it was needed.

Cinematography
The drama didn’t handle its pace well, thus it got boring quickly. The flashbacks were also too lengthy.
Overall
My overall rating for the Korean Drama The Innocent Man is 2 out of 10. The drama had a strong start, but it drown in the boring tropes.
