Story

Sui has been a hikikomori for years due to an event when she was in high school. Now, ten years later, her mangaka father, whose manga has been declining in popularity, is asked to work with author Ryuen to bring Sui’s story out, as they prompt her to attend her high school reunion and observe how her life will be from now on.

Japanese Drama Nanyobi ni Umareta no is a drama about healing.

The drama presents a story with sensitivity, loving their lead and treating her with care and empathy.

The psychological aspect was also well handled and the addition of Agatha in the ending episodes really enhanced Sui’s journey and her ability to move on and help others as well.

The friendship part of the drama was also nice and enjoyable. The relationship between father and daughter was, however, the highlight of the drama.

On the other hand, the romance was not well-paced paced, kind of boring, but, fortunately, not the main focus of the drama most of the time.

Characters

Sui is a young woman who is friendly and sweet, though she is afraid to interact with other people, other than her father.

Iitoyo Marie gave a strong performance.

Ryuen is an author who is quirky and obsessed with his work.

Mizobata Junpei was enjoyable.

Joji is Sui’s father. He is caring and protective of his daughter and wants the best for her.

Jinnai Takanori was really sweet.

Overall

My overall rating for the Japanese Drama Nanyobi ni Umareta no is 7 out of 10. The drama was sweet and warm.
