Korean Drama Lost is a slow burn melodrama

Story

Two people meet at a point in their lives when they both feel lost. Boo Jeong is a forty-year-old woman in an unhappy marriage, struggling to come to terms with her past. Kang Jae is a twenty-seven-year-old man who has lived his life without a plan or a real care in the world, but he has come to a point where he can’t find meaning in his life.

Korean Drama Lost is an angsty melodrama about ordinary people feeling claustrophobic about their lives.

The story is character-centric, with the story being slowly unfolded, as the two main characters get to know each other after they were thrown together over and over by fate.

However, in the end, the drama didn’t have a story to tell. The romance was weak, lost between the lines of the melancholic storylines and the plenty of side characters.

And even though it seemed that the drama was getting somewhere, it really didn’t, as the series felt more like a snapshot of two people’s lives, rather than a tale that would give an ending or a character development at least to the characters.

At least the side characters were interesting and had some engaging storylines. Especially the father was very emotional and touching.

Cinematography

The drama had a slow pace that fitted the drama at first, but messed up the plot in the end.
