Story

After losing her home, her job, and her boyfriend, Yae is in need of someone to save her, and that is exactly when Takumi, her estranged childhood friend, comes in. Takumi, a successful office worker, is looking for someone to pose as his wife to fool his colleagues who were led to believe by him that he is married. So, he asks Yae to work as his fake wife for six months. But, Yae doesn’t know that Takumi had feelings for her all these years and he is ready to use these circumstances to win her over.

Japanese Drama Usokon is a cute romantic comedy that uses the fake marriage trope to its full advantage.

The story is cute, with Takumi being extra adorable when he struggles to approach Yae and when he tries to confess to her even though everything seems to always work against him.

In addition, the love story was well-paced, with enough drama to keep things interesting and to enhance the tension between the main couple.

However, the ending was ultra cheesy and was too far-stretched. Still, it was a happy one and it was satisfying enough.

Characters

Yae is a young woman who always puts the needs of others first. She has low self-esteem and is unable to stand up for herself. Still, she is kind and caring.

Nagahama Neru gave a nice performance, even though her character got tiring to watch as she was too much of a victim all the time.

Takumi is a bold office worker who appears to be confident, arrogant, and cold. However, he hides a more adorable personality.

Kikuchi Fuma did a great job presenting the duality of his character.
