Following the success of SKY Castle, another drama about bullying and family presents a dark story, with less humor and more emotion.
Story
In Ha and Moo Jin’s peaceful family life is shattered when their son goes into a coma, after falling from the school’s rooftop. Everybody says that it’s suicide. But his mother knows that something else has to lead to her son’s accident. And, as the family takes action, more secrets resurface, including their friends’ true nature.
The drama almost reminded me of SKY Castle, with a much more dark twist. The story was very heavy and it built in a way that all the secrets were slowly revealed. That way, the interest was kept high throughout the drama, although the final two episodes were just so so, as everything was almost solved.
Another thing that I enjoyed about this drama was the family dynamics. The family bonds were, overall, strong and helped with the impact that the story left in the end. The ending was nice as well and concluded everyone’s story well. Finally, another key point of this drama was that the plot focused on the main story and didn’t add unnecessary twists and story threads.
Characters
In Ha is a businesswoman who values her family the most. She almost collapses when she learns that her son has a few chances to survive. She, however, fights everything and everyone, going against all odds to find the truth. Choo Ja Hyun was very emotional and she shined throughout the drama.
Sun Ho is a bright and sweet boy, who ends up falling from the rooftop of his school. Although the police think that he’s committed suicide, his family knows that he was not led to take his own life. It seems like Nam Da Reum has a bright future ahead of him, as here as well, he was brilliant.
Cinematography
The drama and the mystery were presented nicely enough and the final result was actually good.
Overall
My overall rating for this drama is 8 out of 10. It was enjoyable, although the final episodes were a bit weak.
