Story

Tu Mo is a young woman who is trying to find what to do with her life, as her college years are coming to an end. She is in the hunt for a job, while having the support of her high school friend, with whom she’s in love, but never had she confessed to him. The later introduces her to his friend, Wei Yi, a physics student who’s arrogant and cold, but helps Tu Mo out without her knowing it. Eventually, they end up accidentally sharing the same apartment. At first, they don’t seem to be able to stand each other, but quickly they create their own little family in the apartment. And, to top that, Wei Yi falls for Tu Mo, but doesn’t know how to tell her. That leads to a series of hilarious misunderstandings.

The story had a nice start, with the introduction of the characters and some quite funny moments. And it is clear straight from the beginning that those two have chemistry. Their romance, overall, was adorable, as it was naive, fresh, funny, cute and sweet. And, even though it was slow-paced, it was entertaining to watch. In addition, it had a nice ending. I can’t really stress enough how disappointing is to invest in a great drama, only to find out that it has an open ending. And there are many chinese dramas that follow, unfortunately, that pattern. Fortunately, put your head on my shoulder is the exception.

Other than the couple and their story, however, the rest of the stories were boring. There was some potential for some of the side characters, but I guess they were overshadowed by the main romance. Plus, some of the couples lacked chemistry. In addition, there were some parts of the drama that were boring, but they were just a few scenes here and there and they didn’t really affect the pace of the drama that much.

Characters

Tu Mo is a cute, bubbly young woman who’s trying to navigate her way through the struggles of life. She is friendly and acts like a child sometimes. Fei Xing was perfect for the role and she looked youthful and adorable.

Wei Yi is cold on the outside, sweet on the inside, genius who loves robots and math. He is awkward when it comes to love, but he tries his hardest. Lin Yi, even though he’s younger than Fei Xing, had nice chemistry with her and he did a nice job with his character.

Cinematography

The drama was nicely presented and the extra bonus clips at the end of each episode were adorable.

Overall

My overall rating for Put your head on my shoulder is 7 out of 10. The love story was funny and sweet, but the side stories were boring.
