Story

The team reunites again in order to defeat a new group of villains that has gained immense power.

Korean Drama The Uncanny Counter Season 2: Counter Punch is the second season of the mass hit Uncanny Counter, though it doesn’t manage to live up to it.

The story is okay, predictable though, and utilizes a lot of the action drama tropes. Thus, it got boring at times, especially in the episodes of the middle, which didn’t offer much.

Rather, the drama was supported mainly by the universe that was introduced in the first season, which was, unfortunately, not further explored, and by the performances, which were strong and offered enough emotion when it was needed.

The action scenes, on the other hand, were well-executed and enjoyable.

Characters

Jeok Bong is the new addition to the team. He is able to have an extraordinary sense of smell, but, he feels inferior due to that. He comes from a rural background and he is at loss in the city environment.

Yoo In Soo gave a nice performance, but he needed more time to fit in with the team. Nevertheless, he offered enough comical relief.

Jang Mool is a rich man who is also a counter. He uses his influence as a businessman in order to serve his other role.

Ahn Suk Hwan did a good job as a supporting lead.
