Korean Drama The Uncanny Counter was a strong blend of action, family bonds and mysterious crimes
Story
So Mun lives with his grandparents after a car accident that cost him his parents and his leg. On top of that, he and his friends face bullying at school, even though they try to stay positive and enjoy life despite their misfortunes. But one day everything changes when a spirit enters So Mun’s body, thus turning him into a counter, a person from the world of the living who works along with a partner from the spirit world to find evil spirits who enter humans and commit crimes and call them over. So, So Mun joins the team of Unni’s noodles and he trains alongside them.
Korean Drama The Uncanny Counter felt like reading an action manga, or, more specifically, the certain action manhwa. It had plenty of action, plenty of mystery and suspense, but also some tear-jerking moments.
The world of the counters was itself interesting, and it was entertaining to discover more of it through So Mun and his adventures. In addition, the drama did a great job presenting it while unfolding the story.
On top of that, the mystery crime case that was slowly planted into the drama bloomed into a quite intriguing plotline, even though it wasn’t something profound for a Korean Drama. Still, it kept things fresh and edgy till the ending.
The small demon-hunting cases were another nice touch to the main story and they building up the drama to reach the moment of the ultimate battle.
Finally, the family moments between the members of the counter group and the friends were sweet and provided some comedy reliefs here and there.

Cinematography
The first episodes of the drama didn’t handle the CGI that well, but the rest of the drama did a great job with the fantasy element and with the quick pace.
