Korean Webdrama 100% Era makes dystopia and school romance work.
Story
Hee Jae and Shi Dae are teens in the after Covid-19 era. They aim to achieve the 100%, attending a special academy where those who are graded with less than 90% are expelled. And even though Hee Jae is almost reaching the perfect mark, she starts getting distracted by being friends with Shi Dae.
Korean Drama 100% Era had one minus: the ending. It somehow felt less compared to the rest of the story and unsatisfying. Though the final episode gave a small glimpse of the mother’s story, the conclusion of the main story was lukewarm.
Other than that, the drama was perfect. It presented an almost dystopian future, with social isolation being a norm and the competitiveness that the young student face even grater than before. The drama did a great job presenting the whole genre, without overdoing it.
The romance was also well paced, slow, even though the drama is short, with many sweet moments, but dramatic ones as well. In addition, the mother daughter relationship was intense and feated smoothly with the attitude of the story.
Characters
Hee Jae has been feeling the pressure to be perfect ever since she was a kid. She finds it hard to socialize and make friends, especially since she focuses on her studies. Things change when she starts being friends with Shi Dae.
Lee Soo Min was very enjoyable and she portrayed her character masterfully.
Shi Dae seems not to really care about achieving the 100%. He enjoys other things, like reading manga and hanging out with his friends.
Yoo Jung Woo had chemistry with his partner and he gave the drama a sweet note.

Hee Jae’s mother has always been pushing her daughter to get better grades and achieve the 100%. She believes that by providing money for her she is doing her best as a mother.
Lee Seung Yeon played her character really well and she was as dramatic as it was needed.

Cinematography
The drama handled the story beautifully and the pace was fast and just right for the length of the drama.
Overall
My rating for the Korean Drama 100% Era is 8 out of 10. The drama had an intense and sweet story, but the final episode was a letdown.
