Korean Drama Alchemy of Souls does the historical fantasy genre justice
Story
Naksu, a notorious assassin, in an attempt to save herself, uses the forbidden magic of changing souls, and she finds herself in the weak body of Mu Deok. And as Mu Deok, in a journey to regain her power, she ends up being the servant of Jang Uk, the son of one of the most powerful families. However, despite his background, he is searching for a teacher who will help him achieve his full potential. And that’s where Mu Deok comes in.
Korean Drama Alchemy of Souls is a fantasy drama with lots of action, political intrigue, and a main couple that supported the whole drama.
The story works around the couple’s plot, adding more and more characters, without getting confusing, however.
The fantasy element, moreover, was nicely handled and interesting to follow, as it was original and masterfully presented.
In addition, the romance was not the main theme of the drama and, therefore, was a good choice to have it added here and there and not to use it as the core of the story.
However, after a while, the political intrigue did get tiring to watch.
