Story

Five women work as pretend girlfriends, posing as someone’s girlfriend for money.

Japanese Drama Ashita Watashi wa Dareka no Konojo is a drama about paid relationships.

The drama portrays beautifully its characters, centering the whole story around their personalities and their struggles.

It also shows how money and love affairs intervene, often canceling one another, or complicating things.

In addition, the drama offers a critical view of how women are treated by society, forced to act cute and girly, or change their appearance to fit in.

Characters

Yuki is a college student who manages to pay off her college debt and her living expenses by posing as a girlfriend. She, however, keeps who she really is hidden under thick layers of makeup.

Yoshikawa Ai gave an emotional performance.

Saito Nagisa was very cute and tragic at the same time.

Yanai Yumena was a strong female lead.

My overall rating for the Japanese Drama Ashita Watashi wa Dareka no Konojo is 8 out of 10. The drama gave a darker view of romantic relationships.
