Story
Shion is a beauty consultant who is successful at work, but her love life is nonexistent. But, after a blind date that made her remember her first love who rejected her, accusing her of not taking care of her appearance, she suddenly goes back in time to when she was seventeen. Grabbing her second chance, Shion will use her beauty techniques to alter her teenage years.
Japanese Drama Seishun Cinderella is a school romance that uses time travel to spice things up.
The drama is cute and youthful, with emphasis on the first love trope, as well as the friendship between Shion and her friend Mitsuki. Actually, the girls’ friendship was the best part of the drama, as the two of them were the core of the time travel theme.
Also, the romance was cute, but suffered due to the fantasy element. First of all, the main character was and even admitted to being 29 in the body of a teenager.
The age gap can be overlooked, as the two of them had chemistry and some cute moments, however, that also meant that the main lead kept pushing her love interest away, which lead to the overuse of cheesy tropes.
Characters
Shion is a bright and friendly girl who had low self-esteem due to her appearance, but she learned beauty techniques that altered her life. In addition, after her first experience with love turned bad, she grew distrustful when it comes to romance.
Kumada Rinka did a great job with her character.

Soma is Shion’s first love. He appears to be friendly and has a warm character, but his motives are a mystery.
Honda Kyoya gave a nice performance.
Mitsuki is Shion’s friend. She is a popular girl who is friendly and cute, but she seems to genuinely care for Shion.
Mizutani Kaho was adorable.

The pace was nice and the fantasy element was nicely presented.
Overall
My overall rating for the Japanese Drama Seishun Cinderella is 6.5 out of 10. The drama didn’t handle everything perfectly, but it was cute.
