Korean Drama Dali and the Cocky Prince is an artistic feast with a cliche story
Story
Dali, a rich aristocrat who loves art, meets Moo Hak in the Netherlands, a newly rich man who is arrogant, but ignorant. They form a sweet connection, but then Dali disappears, leaving Moo Hak looking for her. And when they meet again, Dali is facing bankruptcy after her father’s death and her new position as the head of his gallery, and Moo Hak is her creditor who is trying to get his money back.
Korean Drama Dali and the Cocky Prince is a light drama with an artist atmosphere and some darker twists.
The drama is based on Dali’s and Moo Hak’s relationship, as two completely opposite characters are drawn to one another by luck and chemistry. The drama then adds some mystery, with Dali’s father and his money problems, and her ex-fiance and their odd breakup. And all of these are wrapped up together in a comical setting.
The love story, moreover, was slow paced, with enough chemistry to keep things interesting and intense, some cheesy twists and tropes, and a few cute and romantic moments here and there. The comparability of the characters was probably the best part of the romance, as well as the cute encounters and the smooth built up of their relationship.
However, the love triangle was boring and stale. And being mixed up with the mystery of Dali’s father, it didn’t add much to the drama and the outcome was pretty much predictable.
As for the rest of the characters, they were interesting and had some comical moments, but didn’t have enough screen time other than their contact with the leads.

Cinematography
The drama was slow paced and it got boring towards the ending, but the visuals were very artsy and the costumes spot on.
Overall
My overall rating for the Korean Drama Dali and the Cocky Prince is 6 out of 10. The drama had nice visuals and a couple with chemistry, but the story wasn’t original.
