Story

When Sang Woo, a computer major student, takes out of their common project designer major Jae Young, the latter loses his chance of graduation. Thus, he starts his mission to make Sang Woo’s life miserable to get back at him.

Korean Drama Semantic Error manages to create the right atmosphere and feels in such a short time.

The story has the college, youthful mood, with a light plot that doesn’t have many twists and dramas. The romance is also basic and has the classic love story of the two opposites attracting.

On the other hand, and even though the couple provided plenty of heart-stopping, fluffy moments, the drama felt that it was lacking something, like it needed something more to boost it up a bit more.

That special ingredient wasn’t there, unfortunately. The main lead’s friend was annoying as well and was unbearable at times.

Characters

Jae Young is a popular student who doesn’t really care about his studies and he passes his classes by freeloading. He is also full of himself and confident, though he is indeed a talented designer.

Park Seo Ham was really good for his first main role.

Sang Woo is a genius computer major student, who is, however, antisocial and closed up to himself. He likes things when they are in order and the way he wants them. But, he starts changing his ways when he meets Jae Young.

Park Jae Chan gave an enjoyable performance.

Ji Hye is Sang Woo’s fellow computer major classmate, though younger. She has a bright personality and she is trying to get closer to Sang Woo, as she likes him.

Kim Noh Jin was really sweet and adorable.

Cinematography

The drama has a smooth pace, but the camerawork and lighting feel like rookie work at times.

Overall

My overall rating for the Korean Drama Semantic Error is 5 out of 10. The drama has its moments, but it still feels like something is missing.

I hope whoever reads this review takes it with a grain of salt. It stopped making sense to me when the post mentioned the friend being annoying. None of his friends was annoying. They were beautiful additions. I think this reviewers sometimes just find something to complain about so they seem like they know what they are talking about.

    1. Hello and thank you for reading my review on the drama Semantic Error. This is my opinion of course but I found the female friend of Jae Young selfish and she was the character I disliked the most in the drama, as she didn’t act as a friend towards him. I do agree with you that one should take my reviews with a grain of salt as they are just my thoughts on the series that I’ve watched and I’m by no means an expert, so I can be wrong or something that didn’t work for me can be something that someone else would love. I’m sorry my review didn’t work for you but thank you for taking time to comment.
