Korean Drama New Love Playlist is the new Love Playlist in the Covid era
Story
In the era of Covid-19, college students try to navigate love and friendship.
Korean Drama New Love Playlist is a Love Playlist Drama that follows the same format with the songs, the college theme, and the light mood.
This one, however, focuses more on the romance aspect of the story, centering it around the love triangle and the more than friends trope.
Unfortunately, that theme is unoriginal and wasn’t enough to support the whole drama.
Still, the vibes were nailed and the love story had its moments.
Characters
Min Joo is a bright and friendly college student with a bubbly personality. She is struggling with her love life and balancing it with her friendships.
Oh Yu Jin gave an enjoyable performance and she was adorable, but her character got boring after yet another night out drinking and getting drunk.
Do Yoon is Min Joo’s friend and love interest. He is a friendly college student who protects Min Joo, but he isn’t honest with his feelings.
Yoo Jun Hoo handled his character nicely.
Tae Yong is Min Joo’s and Do Yoon’s friend. He is experiencing hardships with it comes to love, but he doesn’t lose his bright personality.
Bae Hyeon Jun had the most interesting character in the series.
Cinematography
The drama has a nice pace, but it often messes with the POVs and the timeline.
Overall
My overall rating for the Korean Drama New Love Playlist is 5 out of 10. The drama is cute but predictable.
