A light funny drama to wrap up summer time.
Story
Ji Seong is rich and spoiled. He loves shopping and so, he shops non stop. After suffering from amnesia, he forgets who he is and wonders the streets alone. He finally stumbles upon country girl Bok Shil and forces her to take care of him. Bok Shil has just moved to Seoul and she is naive and pure-hearted. But both of them somehow manage to survive, even though Bok Shil is the only one working and Ji Seong is always spending.
The drama is light, funny and very sweet. The comedy element is all over the place and the jokes are really good. Probably the best part of the drama, other than the concept, was how funny it was. The romance was good as well, but a bit weak as it was more intense towards the ending. The later, also, was a bit cliche and it didn’t help the drama at all, which, other than that, was fresh and original.
Characters
Jiseong is a spoiled heir who loves shopping. However, when he loses his memory and ends up homeless, he is forced to live like every other person in the big city, struggling to get by. That teaches him that the most precious things in life are not materials but the relationships he creates. Seo In Guk was really good and he didn’t overact his comical character.
Bok Shil is a country girl who moves to the big city. She is wide-eyed, naive and pure-hearted. However, she is also passionate, good-natured and friendly. So, she not only takes in Jiseong, but also survives the dangers of Seoul. Nam Ji Hyun was funny and cute as her character needed to be in order to not be outshined by In Guk’s character.
Cinematography
Ending aside, the drama was fast-paced and they handled the comedy element beautifully.
Overall
My overall rating is 8 out of 10. The drama is very funny and it’s a hidden gem really.
