Korean Drama Anna is short but intriguing

Story

Yoo Mi is sick of her life. So she creates a new one by telling lies. However, those lies are bound to be exposed.

Korean Drama Anna has a dark feel to it, as the story spans over the lifetime of a woman wrapped in the net of her own lies.

And even though the drama is short, and, thus, the story has to skip things and sacrifice the characters’ development, the plot is quite compelling.

The ending was a wonderful outburst of the tension that the story was building up, as the viewer just held their breath throughout the drama, knowing that Yoo Mi’s lies won’t lead her to a happy ending.

However, the story needed more time to properly develop and progress more naturally. Significantly the time jumps were not aiding the drama.

Characters

Yoo Mi is a woman who has been struggling through life, as she has always been stricken with bad luck. So, she creates a fake profile of herself in order to get where she wants to be.

Bae Suzy gave a mature performance.

Hyun Joo is a rich, spoiled heiress who likes belittling those around her and caring only about herself.

Jung Eun Chae was pretty great as the obnoxious character of the drama.

Ji Hoon is Anna’s husband. He is a man who is driven by power and ambition and he is ready to do anything to rise.

Kim Joon Han had an interesting character, however, he wasn’t properly presented.

Cinematography

The drama was short but had a nice, well-managed pace.

Overall

My overall rating for the Korean Drama Anna is 8 out of 10. The drama is short but it has a suspenseful story.
