Story

After her previous heartbreaking breakup, and a love disappointment from her coworker, Yumi, an office worker whose love cells have fallen into a coma, meets Goo Woong. And that is when her cells start working hard to make the relationship work and bring a happy ending for Yumi.

Korean Drama Yumi’s Cells has animation as its basis and brings out memories of ‘Inside Out’ and still, it makes it work. The cell part is adorable and funny and essential for the story, as it gives the viewer a glimpse of Yumi’s thoughts and decisions. It also helps to understand more the story and the relationship.

In addition, the animation was well made, with bright colors, cute characters, and funny dialogues.

As for the story, the main plot is focusing on the romantic story of Yumi, which is cute, sweet, swoon-worthy, well-paced, and realistic at the same time. The couple had chemistry as well, which boosted the reliability of the story. The comedy moments were, furthermore, nicely embedded in the story and pretty funny.

In addition, the drama that was added to the love story was not under the cliche premises, but it was genuine, and the outcome was something that can happen with a real relationship, though it left a lot of room for the second season.

Yumi works at an office and she has been dedicating her time and energy to her work. She is interested in her coworker, but when she finds out that he doesn’t feel the same, she agrees to go out with his friend, Woong, whom she doesn’t find appealing at first, but she slowly starts to fall for him.

Kim Go Eun was adorable and did a great job with her character.

Park Ji Hyun gave a nice performance, even though her character was unlikable.

Ruby works with Yumi at the office. She is the opposite of Yumi, energetic, outgoing, and always acting cute and antagonizing her for the interest of their coworker.

Lee Yoo Bi was youthful and indeed adorable.
