Story

Smile is in love with Kyro, the heartthrob of her college. However, he rejects her because he thinks that she is childish. But, he promises that if she was more of a woman, he would have given her a shot.

That is when Smile hires Badz from the boy for rent agency. That agency rents men to women to act as their boyfriends. Smile, however, has a special request for Badz: she wants him to teach her how to be a woman and make Kyro fall in love with her.

Boy for Rent used two pairs or couples and somehow tangled them together perfectly.

To be honest, the main couple was a bit more entertaining than the second one. They were cute, refreshing and had plenty of sweet, romantic moments. Their chemistry was smooth as well.

For the second couple, the story was more mature and angst-ie than pure romantic and they tended to be boring.

The overall vibes, however, were refreshing and cute, and the concept of the drama unique and entertaining.

Charcters

Smile is a sweet girl who is cute, but not womanly enough to make boys notice her. And, after her crush rejects her because of that, she rents a boyfriend to teach her how to be in a mature relationship. Fon Sananthachat Thanapatpisal was adorable as Smile.

Kyro is good looking and he knows it. He even works as a boy for rent, using his charms to make his clients happy. When he gets hired by Liz, a heartbroken girl, he falls in love with her and wants to date her for real. Lee Thanat Lowkhunsombat was a real sweetheart, though his character was a bit bratty at first.

The second couple of the Thai drama Boy for Rent

Badz works for the boy for rent agency after his sister got indebted and he had to gain money. He keeps that fact from his girlfriend, ashamed that he has to do that job. And it is clear that he is not cut out for that role, as he is too romantic and cares too much for his clients. Mond Tanutchai Vijitvongthong had chemistry with his partner and he was a nice main lead.

Liz dates Badz, but she thinks that he is cheating on her. As her family situation is a sad one, with her being always blamed and taken out of the equation of her father’s new family, she tends to be insecure and so, she breaks things off with him. And, to make herself feel better, she rents Kyro to pretend to be her boyfriend. Aye Sarunchana Apisamaimongkol had a slightly annoying character, but her performance was nice.

Cinematography

The drama did some mistakes (like Liz’s hair changing colour from scene to scenes), but the pace was nice and the wrapped things up nicely in the end.

Overall

My overall rating for the Thai Drama Boy for rent is 7 out of 10. Although the second couple was boring, the main one was cute and the story interesting.
