Story

Aki is a shy girl who moves into a shared house. To her surprise, one of her new roommates is her first love. Aki hadn’t seen him since he broke up with her in high school. But, back then, she was more confident and dynamic than her current low key self. To her surprise, Tomoya, her first love, asks her an odd request, to sleep next to him for while, in order to help him with a problem of his that keeps him away from writing his successful book series. Aki eventually agrees, however, she slowly falls in love with him all over. But, there is yet another weird offer from another roommate of hers. Taichi, the man who owns the house and works with her, asks her out of the blue to marry him.

The story was odd and you can easily get annoyed by the main character. She just was helpless when it came to refusing to everyone’s ridiculous requests. Or, at least, she could pretend to think about it before agreeing to them. The romance was kind of cute for a while, as they showed some potential to keep things interesting. But, the ending was just not that good, as it left things unfinished and didn’t give closure to the story. Actually, the second pairing seemed better after a while.

So, as the drama focused more on the love story, it didn’t give space for any other story to bloom, or, at least, to have some character development or explore them better and more in-depth. Thus, we ended up with four complicated, dysfunctional people, with no background story to reason with their problems. Finally, the mature scenes were a few and weren’t that explicit, although you can’t call this a clean, innocent drama. Still, it wasn’t shocking.

Characters

Aki is a sweet, innocent girl who tries to handle her personal life, which is a disaster. However, she is positive and friendly, although she used to be more confident and sassy when she was younger. Morikawa Aoi was nice as Aki, both funny and cute. She also had chemistry with her love interests.

Tomoya is a mysterious, broody man who is, in fact, a famous writer. He has problems with expressing himself, nevertheless, when it comes to his human relationships. Nakao Masaki was somehow adorable as Tomoya, kind of like a kid sometimes.

Taichi is a confident man who is very professional, but sweet at the same time. He is the opposite of Tomoya, being more open and outgoing. However, he is insecure when it comes to his relationships. Yuki Kousei was really good as the second lead and he displayed some fine acting from time to time.

Cinematography

The drama was a bit superficial with handling their characters.

Overall

My overall rating for this drama is 5 out of 10. The ending was disappointing, but, for a light, weird drama, it was okay.
