Korean Drama So Not Worth It is an alternative sitcom with the Korean twist that just doesn’t work
Story
In a college dormitory in Seoul, students from all over the world form relationships and go through the struggles of youth.
Korean Drama So Not Worth It had a good concept and it tried to keep up with the youthful image, while blending in a western sitcom with the Korean drama flare.
However, the comedy part was weak, which is a pity because the whole drama is founded on the comedy element and the ability to produce laughter. Unfortunately, the jokes were not funny and the artificial laughing sounds that were inserted were too forceful.
The dynamics of the characters were, at least, a pretty spot on and helped with keeping the atmosphere upbeat and energetic. The main love story too, though predictable, was enjoyable. The second one was, sadly, messy and all over the place.
And even though the small per episode stories were fun and easily resolved, the ending was open. Also, that concept didn’t allow the characters to get properly developed and thus, they were left superficial.
Characters
So Wan is in charge of the dorms. She is working multiple jobs and is struggling to keep up with everything while managing to keep a normal social life.
Park Se Wan was really enjoyable and she did a great job with her character.

Shin Hyun Seung was pretty sweet and a good main lead.

Sam is from Australia and he is the son of a wealthy businessman. He is self-centered but friendly.
Choi Young Jae tried hard with his performance and he got better after the first episodes.
Minnie is a student from Thailand. She is very interested in Korean culture and she wants to experience everything.
Minnie was adorable and energetic, but she needs more time to grow as an actress.
Hyun Min is a Korean student who couldn’t get into the dorms like the rest of his friends. He is very loyal and wants to help out when he can.
Han Hyun Min got significantly better after the first episodes.
Cinematography
The drama had the basic format of a sitcom and it was fast paced and colorful.
Overall
My overall rating of the Korean Drama So Not Worth It is 5 out of 10. The drama lacked the comedy element.
