The drama had some over the top moments, but the story was heartwarming.

Story

Bok Dong is forced to relocate after his coworkers set him up and blame him for a business mishap. His new duty is to run the Cheonlima Market, which is owned by Daema Group, in which headquarters he used to work. The supermarket is malfunctioning, with few employees and messy, dirty aisle with rotten products. After arriving there, Bok Dong set his plan in action, a plan to destroy the supermarket in order to take revenge on the Daema Group. So, he starts hiring everyone that walks into the market looking for a job, which drives Seok Gu, the market’s shopkeeper, crazy, as he dreams of becoming a member of the Daema Group by making Cheonlima Market a retail success. Soon the market becomes a magical fair, with odd employees, human carters, king’s for costumer services, aquarium, even an arcade. The harder Bok Dong tries to make the market even more observed, the more popular the market becomes.

The drama had some fantastic, magical and crazy scenes, with the market becoming a willy wonka factory full of odd surprises. Sure, some of them were over the top and others a bit idiotic, but overall it was a fun ride. The main story was heartwarming, with a nice ending and emotional storylines. Plus, the characters were interesting and unique and it was nice to see background stories for some of them.

Characters

Bok Dong is a genius businessman who often takes praise by Daema’s CEO for his achievements. However, his success creates enemies for him, who destroys his career and demote him to Cheonlima Market. Although he seems cool-headed about it, he is actually plotting his revenge on his former company. Kim Byung Chul takes a different, more comical role in this one,

Seok Gu looks naive and silly, but he is ambitious and he wants to succeed. But he also cares about his market family and he starts to respect Bok Dong. Lee Dong Hwi was the more “normal” one out of all the characters and he did a decent job with his character.

Cinematography

The drama had done a great job with the pace and the fantastical scenes that took place in the market.

Overall

My overall rating is 7 out of 10. The length of 12 episodes was just ideal and for what the drama is offering, it was good enough.
