Story

Yoo Ryung wants to join the subway police force in order to investigate her sister’s case. A few years ago, Yoo Ryung’s twin sister disappeared in the subway and Yoo Ryung believes that the culprit behind her case is the “subway’s ghost”, a serial killer, who, according to Yoo Ryung, hides in the tunnels of the trains. As Yoo Ryung starts working with the rest of the team, she starts bonding with the team’s leader, Ji Suk. And as they gradually solve subway cases, they slowly come closer and closer to the ghost.

The drama did a great job with the building of the mystery. The case was interesting and it was amazing how they chained every small case they solved to the main case. The secrets that the characters were hiding were pretty interesting and explained a lot about what happened. Also, they gave the villain a background story that suited the ghost and it was nice that they made the ghost more humane and didn’t let the character as just a criminal. Finally, the drama had a pretty intense ending and the action scenes fitted the story a lot. Also, the sisters’ story was touching and thrilling.

However, the drama got boring in the middle. The story was pretty much predictable and had nothing fresh to offer. The romance was unnecessary too. As the love triangle never got properly developed (or even existed in the first place), the main couple didn’t have chemistry and, as the drama focused on the mystery and the leading lady’s story, it had hardly any room to be properly developed.

Characters

Yoo Ryung is a determined young subway cop who has given her life into finding her sister and solving her case. She stops at nothing to achieve her goals, even if that means acting alone or harming her new team. Honestly, Yoo Ryung was an annoying character. She was overall, not selfish, but she did focus on her own goals and she didn’t let anyone else come close to her or cared about her colleagues. Though, she did get better after a while. That said, Moon Geun Young was simply amazing as Yoo Jin, the sister, and she did a good job as Yoo Ryung too.

Ji Suk is a compassionate team leader who cares about his teammates and wants to help the victims of his cases. He also has to care about his mother, who has archaimers and thinks that he is his father. Kim Sun Ho did a great job with the emotional scenes and his character was the opposite of Yoo Ryung’s.

Ma Ri is a young team leader of the police force. She wants to find the ghost, but she doesn’t have leads. Honestly, Ma Ri was the worse character of them all. She was arrogant, impulsive and childish. She kept bullying Yoo Ryung for silly really reasons and she was unprofessional and, frankly, didn’t bring any results. However, Jung Yoo Jin gave a nice performance.

Cinematography

The drama had a tiring pace, but they presented the mystery nicely.

Overall

My overall rating is seven out of ten. It had a nice story but the middle part was tiring and some characters were annoying.
