The Playlist Global (Link) is a channel that provides solid webdramas with mainly romance concept. There was a time (not too long ago) when I’ve got hooked and watched everything on the channel. And, as the dramas are short, mostly under 15 minutes per episode, and the stories addictive, it isn’t difficult to finish them in a day! So, here are some of the dramas of Playlist Global Ranked.
1. Seventeen
Genre : School, First Love, Friendship, Romance
Episodes : 8 (10 minutes each)
Story : 8 out of 10
Characters : 8 out of 10
Overall : 8 out of 10
In Seventeen, five high school friends meet again after years and reminisce about their past school days. They also reveal their love stories and what happened to them now (kind of like Reply 1997 concept). The story was sweet, with the first love as the main concept. Also, it involved strong friendship bonds. The only thing that I didn’t love about this one was the ending that was open for one of the stories. Hopefully, there will be a second season.
2. Love Playlist
Genre : Romance, Friendship, College
Episodes : 8 (5 minutes each) for the first season, 12 for the second and third season
Story : 8 out of 10
Characters : 7 out of 10
Overall : 7.5 out of 10
Love playlist follows the theme of a playlist, with a song accompanying each episode. The drama showcases many stories, but the main ones are of the four friends and their lovers. The relationships go through many hardships or bloom as new ones throughout the length of the drama that takes place in college. However, one of the main ones follows a circle in the second and third season and, thus, ended up being boring.
3. A-Teen
Genre : School, Romance, Friendship
Episodes : 24 (10 minutes each)
Story : 8 out of 10
Characters : 8 out of 10
Overall : 8 out of 10
The most popular webdrama of the channel, A-Teen has just announced a second season, with many new members joining the cast. The drama presents the story of two girls with the same name, Hana, but with different personalities. And, even though they seem close, their relationship is shaken by the secrets that start to resurface. Notable mention the cameo of the NCT Dream members in one of the episodes. This drama had a slow start, but the friendship, the romance and the drama behind their relationships were really entertaining.
4. Not Alright, But It’s Alright
Genre : Office, Slice of life, Romance
Episodes : 10 (10 minutes each)
Story : 8 out of 10
Characters : 8 out of 10
Overall : 8 out of 10
This one targets a more grown up audience, with the story taking place in an office. We follow the life of Ji An, a new employee who feels that she doesn’t belong in her new position. However, she does her best to survive every day. I do hope there is a second season for this one, as the story was really good and the leading lady extra cute. However, the romance was a cliff hanger.
5. Luv Pub
Genre : College, Work, Money problems, Slice of Life, Romance
Episodes : 10 (10 minutes each)
Story : 7 out of 10
Characters : 7 out of 10
Overall : 7 out of 10
Luv Pub is a pub with love as a theme. Their employees are young people, with their own problems. We follow their stories, as they bond with each other. Notable marks : one of the cast members is N.Flying’s Lee Seung Hyub. Plus, there is another guy who looks exactly like NCT’s Doyoung. Part of those fun facts, however, the drama was enjoyable, as it didn’t focus only on the love stories, but on human relationships overall. My only concern was the concept with the robot and the camera, that served as the mysterious boss to whom the characters had to narrate their daily struggles.
6. Yellow
Genre : Music, Romance
Episodes : 10 (8 minutes each)
Story : 7 out of 10
Characters : 6 out of 10
Overall : 6.5 out of 10
Yellow is a drama about a band and their photography manager, a girl who is in love with the frontman. However, the later doesn’t see her as a girl, but rather, as a friend. Plus, he can’t get over his ex. On the other hand, another member of the band is in love with her and he wants to confess to her. The drama had a nice love triangle and the concept was good. However, I didn’t like the main couple.
7. Flower Ever After
Genre : Romance, Relationships
Episodes : 10 (15 minutes each)
Story : 7 out of 10
Characteres : 8 out of 10
Overall : 7 out of 10
This drama follows the stories of two couples, narrated by a fifth person who observes them while falling for one of the men. It is said from the start that only one of them is going to make it. And, thus, the guessing game starts. The concept was interesting and the couple’s kind of cute, although they were more grown up than the ones in the other dramas.
8. Just One Bite
Genre : Friendship, Food, Romance
Episodes : 8 (14 minutes each)
Story : 6 out of 10
Characteres : 6 out of 10
Overall : 6 out of 10
Just one bite is all about girl power. Three best friends share their romantic adventures over food. The concept was entertaining, as well as some of the stories. And, fortunately, there is going to be a second season, as the first one’s story was left wide open
Others on Playlist Global : Want More 19 ( school kids get into relationships and they start to realize that they aren’t so innocent) Go Back Diary (a man goes back to early 2000’s and remembers his first love and how their relationship progressed).
