Siu Yu has taken the potion and she has now completely forgotten Pak Ho, and his involvement in her murder. So, she continues her job, bringing misfortune to him. And he takes everything with a smile, as he knows that this is the only way he could be close to Siu Yu.
However, he discovers that Zit Yan has a new victim and, in his effort to stop him, kills him and get almost killed himself, falling in a coma where he keeps repeating Siu Yu’s murder and fails to save her each time.
That is when the guardians sent Siu Yu to him to get him out of the labyrinth of his mind, while Zit Yan reincarnates as a cockroach. Siu Yu rushes to Pak Ho and manages to get him out, confirming that she doesn’t blame him anymore.
Finally, Siu Yu gets to move up a level, however, that also means that she won’t meet Pak Ho again. The latter is sad, but accepts it, starting to live a happier life, while he promises to meet Siu Yu one day.
In the final scene, the drama shows an alternative side of the story, with Pak Ho saving Siu Yu but dying in her stand, and now him being her misfortune, while she goes through life struggling.
The drama had the perfect ending for the story, bittersweet just like the plot. Yes, Siu Yu gets to revenge her death and moves up a level, while Pak Ho sheds away from his remorse and guilt, by redeeming himself. Also, Zit Yan gets what he deserved. Still, they couldn’t be together and the drama didn’t force an odd twist to get them a happy ending as a couple. But, they did get a happy ending nevertheless.
The overall feeling the drama gave was silly at times, cute, but also sad and melodramatic. It had a sunny side as well as a darker side, and that is what sets this drama apart. The fantasy element was also masterfully handled.
