Story
Ye Jin is antisocial and is hard for her to reach out of her shell and make new acquaintances. However, she has an online friend, “Sweet Brick”, with whom she has been exchanging voice messages for quite some time. Ye Jin wants to meet him in person, but finds it hard to ask him. However, when he prompts her to go on a small trip by herself, Ye Jin will meet another traveler there, with whom she will have a connection. Thus, Ye Jin will start wondering whether this boy is “Sweet Brick”, or the cold guy who’s been her teammate at the candle workshop.
Korean Drama Sometoon 2020, which has been adapted from the webtoon “Sometoon x Oh My Girl”, and follows the arc Binnie’s story, has an interesting prompt idea.
The main character is relatable, as she is shy and acts mostly in a realistic way and according to the situation. She doesn’t overdo it with the cuteness, either, and, thus, she doesn’t get annoying.
On top of that, the love interests are both good potential partners. However, the choice of having two endings was not everyone’s cup of tea. They are rushed as well.
The story overall has a strong start and a smooth introduction to each character. Unfortunately, it doesn’t keep up with the early excitement and kept messing the pace, and presenting things sloppily.

Characters
Ye Jin is shy and doesn’t make friends easily. She is, however, a bright and sweet person once one gets to know her.
Binnie handled her character nicely.
Woon is Ye Jin’s teammate at the candle workshop. He seems to be cold and to not care about Ye Jin, but he shows some signs that he is more than that rude image.
Jung Woo Jin was a sweet lead.
Ian is a young man who loves photography. He finds Ye Jin interesting and wants to get to know her better. However, after their first encounter, he doesn’t see her again.
Ki Tae Hwa gave a smooth performance and he had an interesting character.

The drama had some nice locations but didn’t handle its time length well.
Overall
My overall rating for the Korean Drama Sometoon 2020 is 5 out of 10. The start of the drama is entertaining, but it loses its momentum after that.
