Korean Drama Breakup Probation, A Week has plenty of drama and heartache, but not a well-structured fantasy
Story
After Ga Ram breaks up with her boyfriend, Seo Jae, they get into an accident and die. That is when a mysterious man offers Ga Ram a contract. According to that, she is given one week prior to the accident to break up with Seo Jun, or else he dies.
Korean Drama Breakup Probation, A Week beautifully crafts the story of a relationship that is realistic at times, kind of just ideal at others, but nevertheless heartbreaking.
The main couple had chemistry and they handled the drama professionally, without overdoing it, allowing the story to shine through the multiple flashbacks, when the viewer gets to see their past, how they met, and the different perspectives of their relationship.
However, the drama did not handle the fantasy element that well. In the end, there were a lot of questions left unanswered, as the plot focused more on the love front rather than the world built. There was no explanation, for example, as to what was that hallway and who were those mysterious men.
The story also kind of went from being dramatic and enigmatic to being repetitive and tiring towards the ending. The pace almost slowed down and the drama lost its freshness and element of surprise.
Characters
Ga Ram left her family after her father’s death and since then she has been on her own until she met Seo Jae. She loves him but feels like she is not good enough for him.
Kwon Yu Ri gave a smooth performance, with a lot of emotions and well handled dramatic scenes. However, her character was a bit annoying towards the end.
Seo Jae is an office worker and he often neglects his girlfriend to focus on his work. However, he will start rethinking his choices after she asks him for a breakup.
Hyun Woo did a great job as the main lead and he was simply boyfriend goals.

Cinematography
The drama mastered the timeline’s changes and it presented the story in an interesting and entertaining way.
Overall
My overall rating for the Korean Drama Breakup Probation, A Week is 6 out of 10. The story is nice, but it gets predictable in the final episodes.
