Story

Joo Young falls in love with Ja Rim at first sight. However, she finds him annoying and is in no position to date him. Still, Joo Young doesn’t give up and he asks his friends for help.

KDrama Love Revolution is a light school drama that focuses mainly on the love story of Joo Young and Ja Rim. It has a quirky vibe and a comical personality, with some scenes being a bit over the top, but saved by the good acting.

The love story is predictable and felt awkward at times, mainly because the romance was supported only by Joo Young and Ja Rim seemed like she didn’t enjoy their time together at all. They had some cute moments though and the progress was smooth.

The most enjoyable part of the drama, however, is the friendship. All side characters were enjoyable, even though their stories were left open and unfinished. The ending, actually, was unconcluded, part from the main love story, suggesting that there might be a second season.

Characters

Joo Young is a seventeen-year-old high school student who has a warm, bright character. He is in love with Ja Rim and he will do anything to make her notice him.

Park Ji Hoon was delightful to watch and he managed the comedy masterfully.

Ja Rim is a beautiful high schooler who has a cold character. She has never dated before, but she doesn’t seem interested in Joo Young either.

Lee Ruby portrayed her character nicely and she had chemistry with her partner.

Kyung Woo is Joo Young’s best friend. He has a more steady head character compared to his friend and he hides his forehead with his hair to conceal a scar.

Kim Young Hoon was pretty good as the second lead.

Min Ji is Ja Rim’s friend. She is friendly and outgoing. She is in love with Kyung Woo, but he doesn’t seem to notice her.

Jung Da Eun was adorable and her performance was enjoyable.

Cinematography

The drama has a relaxing pace, but there were times that the story got druggy.

Overall

My overall rating for the Korean Drama Love Revolution is 6 out of 10. The drama had some interesting side characters, but the love story was boring.
