Japanese Drama Gokushufudo presents a heartwarming comedy
Story
Tatsu is a legendary yakuza who now is living as a househusband. And he gives the same power to master his daily chores, as he did in his gangster days. However, even though he is now living peacefully, misunderstandings often occur due to his past occupation.
Japanese Drama Gokushufudo did not overdo it with the comedy element, even though it is a manga adaption. The comedy was nice and in the just right amount of crazy.
The story is constructed in small cases per episode, usually involving the same characters and of course, Tatsu, who is the man of the hour.
The family plot, moreover, is heartwarming, realistic and kept things fresh and down to earth for most of the drama.
Characters
Tatsu is an ex yakuza who has now devoted his life to caring for his family and taking care of them. He often applies his past life’s tactics in succeeding in his new tasks.
Tamaki Hiroshi stole the spotlight in every scene and he did a great job with his odd character.
Miku is Tatsu’s wife. She was a single mom when she met him. However, Miku is really bad with house chores, unlike Tatsu. She is also obsessed with anime characters.
Kawaguchi Haruma was very dynamic and the perfect match for her partner.
Masa is a friend of Tatsu and a young gangster. He is, however, naive and pure in heart.
Shison Jun provided the drama with many comical scenes.
Cinematography
The drama handled the pace and the comedy part well.
Overall
My overall rating for the Japanese Drama Gokushufudo is 7 out of 10. The drama is a fun ride, with some warm characters and smooth comedy.
