Korean Web Drama Growing Season takes a more realistic approach to the college romance theme.
Story
Ah In is a freshman who likes a guy who works with her, but she is anxious about taking things to the next level. So, she seeks help from her friends, Ji Yoo and Ha Young. Ji Yoo is a young woman who has the reputation of being a free spirit and dating a lot of men. Ha Young is, on the other hand, living with her boyfriend of four years.
Growing Season, other than the clever titles it had for each episode, took a more in-depth glance into the romantic lives of young women. The drama explored themes like sex, STD, social pressure, and relationship problems, under the umbrella of a rom com story.
Now, for the love stories: they were cute but predictable. Still, the couples were likable and they had a nice pace when it came to their progress. They also had chemistry and many sweet and romantic moments.
The highlight of the drama was, however, the girl talk. The girls provided a lot of insights on how young women think about love, relationship, and getting physical. The girl power was spot on and their friendship was enjoyable too. But, the whole drama between Ji Yoo and Ha Young was lukewarm and not what it was presented to be.
