Story

Modem is a witch. She lives with her brother and her aunt, who owns a bubble tea shop. When one day her aunt gives her a love potion, Modem hopes to use it to make her boss fall in love with her. Unfortunately, the potion falls on the head of the man she loathes, Light. And, in her attempt to redo what it was done, Modem releases her aunt’s magic bubbles, causing chaos everywhere.

My Bubble Tea is a pretty fun show to watch. It includes romance, comedy, and magic, a killer combination, especially considering that the fantasy element was well handled and didn’t ruin the mood of the drama.

The story was kept fresh and entertaining until the very end, even though there were multiple times when the drama seemed to be wrapping things up. That was due to the fast pace of the story that didn’t let things get dull and tiring.

In addition, the office cases were nicely embedded in the main story and were a chance for the side characters to have their screentime. However, many of them were forgotten from time to time and were left underdeveloped.

Finally, the magic universe was easy to understand and didn’t mess the story up by making the plot confusing and complicated.

Characters

Modem works in a marketing team and she is facing any difficulty with a smile. However, even though she looks like a common young woman, in reality, she is a witch, coming from a magic family that works their magic through the potions that they put in their bubble teas.

Proy Manasaporn Chanchalerm was pretty cute and she did amazing as the lead.

Light works several odd jobs with his motorbike, hopping to find his father that he can’t even remember. After an unfortunate meet up, he and Modem become enemies that can’t stand each other. However, that changes when he finds himself madly in love with her.

Mean Phiravich Attachitsataporn was really fun to watch.

Modem’s Boss is a man who appears to be perfect in everything. And truly, he seems to be on Modem’s side every time she is in trouble or sad.

Nichkhun did a really good job with his character.

Cinematography

The drama had the perfect pace and the perfect length that the story needed to be properly developed. The magic element was also well managed.
