Story

Dal Geon’s life turns upside down when the plane on which his nephew was on crushes. Before the accident, the kid sent him a video, on which in the background was a man, the same man Dal Geon finds at the Moroccan airport where he and the other families go to pay respects to their loved ones. He chases the man, however, he loses him. But his chase leads him to a NIS agent, Hae Ri. Hae Ri believes him when he tells her that the crash was not an accident and that there is something fishy behind it. However, the mystery behind the plane crash is bigger than they think and it involves big company names’, politicians and assassins, even NIS members.

Vagabond had started with an emotional story, full of action, suspense and thrilling scenes. The characters seemed interesting and the twists were enjoyable. The action scenes too were well filmed and well-executed. The political suspense was great too. However, after a while, the twists were repeated, as the mystery was pretty much solved and the drama was stretching its plot to make it last for the remaining episodes. The romance was just unnecessary and it never had time to be developed properly and had only a few romantic moments overall. Finally, the ending was left open, and if there is no second season, that ending was just horrible.

Dal Geon grew up as an orphan. And when his nephew ends up without a family, he takes him in. As a stun man, Dal Geon is fearless and dynamic. And when he loses the only family he has, he devotes his life into finding out what really happened. Lee Seung Gi nailed both the dramatic and the action scenes.

Hae Ri is a NIS agent who fights for justice. She wants to help Dal Geon and the other families to find who killed their loved ones. Bae Suzy was great as always.

The drama had a nice pace and the action scenes were really good.

Overall

My overall rating is 7 out of 10. The drama had a nice story, but they didn’t handle it well. Plus the romance was unnecessary.
